5/21/2023 0 Comments 2018 nissan rogue reviews2022 brought the new 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder with 11% more horsepower and 25% more torque than the engine it replaced. Though the redesigned third-gen Rogue began life with a version of the old, naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, it lasted only a year. The new Rogue is so much better looking than the previous version it’s almost worthy of a new name. After years of inconsistency, Nissan has hit its stride with design. Both have a 106.5-inch wheelbase, but the Outlander fits a tiny third-row, whereas the Rogue is a two-row-only proposition and better for it. It’s a not-very-well-kept secret that the new Rogue was developed by the Renault– Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and it shares a platform with the Mitsubishi Outlander. The list includes Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, Chevrolet Equinox and Kia Sportage. In addition to the aforementioned heavy hitters, nearly every maker fields an entry. Given the popularity of the compact crossover segment, there is no shortage of players. Adding all-wheel drive to any trim is $1,500, a steal for folks who live in wintry climes. Considering how much more the SV brings (adaptive cruise control, for starters) for just a $1,690 increase in price, it makes little sense to fuss with optioning an S into a better-equipped vehicle. The S ($28,655, including a $1,295 destination fee) leads off with a low price and little else. The 2023 Rogue is available in four trims, each in front- or all-wheel drive configuration. The 2021 redesign marked a turn for the better cosmetically and structurally, with the new turbocharged three-cylinder engine completing the makeover with improved performance and efficiency. Though the Rogue sold consistently enough to claim the brand’s top seller spot since 2016 (over 412,00 units in 2018 alone, according to Nissan), it lacked the cohesiveness that defined the segment leaders. Now in the third model year of its third generation, the 2023 Nissan Rogue plays in the hyper-competitive compact crossover SUV segment facing off against competitors including the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Chevrolet Equinox.
